The Allam Medical Building is home to the University of Hull’s Faculty of Health Sciences and Hull York Medical School and forms part of the £28million Health Campus development at the university. The 5-storey, 70,000 sq ft building will provide specialised medical teaching facilities including a full mock hospital ward simulating a real-life healthcare environment, operating theatre and intensive care nursing facilities. There are also collaborative working areas, an innovative projecting lecture area, meeting rooms, a think pod and extensive atriums.
The Allam Medical Building has been designed to attract and develop students and staff who will shape the healthcare workforce of the future.
The investment in the health campus underlines the University of Hull and Hull York Medical School’s commitment to improving the health of people in the region and beyond. It is supported by a £7-million donation from East Yorkshire businessman and honorary graduate of the University, Dr Assem Allam, alongside other key donors.
The new building was opened by Her Majesty The Queen.
